61 side emblem location

could someone post a copy of section 12, page 3.00 of the 61 assembly manual that shows the location of the side emblems? My copy is crap and impossible to read.

Perhaps you should contact whoever you bought it from and BITCH - maybe, but not likely, they'll fix it for the next guy. That's somehow not a "long enough" message, but maybe it's just negative.

That page in my 61 AIM is horrid as well, I don't think posting a copy here would do you any good but this is the side of my original 61 which I no longer own so I can't take measurements:

when I did mine on the '59 in the 70's, there was no paint on the body, so I just used the filed in holes as locators. I can't remember, but can you see any of the filled in holes from the back?

Thanks guys. My car has been repaired numerous times and the existing holes are not correct, ie, not parallel and not evenly spaced. There is a good photo in Tom Falconer's book which I was going to use, but I was just hoping for something 'offical'.

If you have the time and can find some like cars around you, measure and take pics. and that would get you there. Brad.

Curiosity drove me to my Mid-America (circa 1977) '61 AIM where the emblem is shown on a double fold-out of pages A131/A132, Sect 11-13, sheet 3.00, but there is NO JOY there - measurements for the holes are NOT provided, apparently on the theory that they were already drilled elsewhere. My AIM has numerous double fold-out pages and ends at A258 - compare? My Section 12, sheet 3.00 is titled Body Rear Wiring Harness, Rear Lamp and License Lamp.

ken, were both sides repaired or just one side? if just one side, if you can take the emblem off the "good" side, take a sheet of paper and tape it to the car. use the front edge by the tire and the front edge of the cove as guilds. mark the holes then tape the paper to the other side.

After studying photos, there really wasn't a 'good' side. So, between photos and a little common sense, I came up with a plan to locate the emblems. I don't know if they are in the 'correct' spot, but they look like the photos in the books, so I can live with that. Thanks for the help fellas.

Ken, we just put all those 61 holes in a front end that was from a 60 that had had them all filled it. I can send you some pictures of both sides and measurements. All of the measurements were taken off of a 61 Duntov. Send me your email address if you would. Scott Fogaley@sbcglobal.net

Scott, Thanks for the offer, but I've got them all drilled now. My car is not a top flight car, so if it's not perfect, I can live with it. I just wanted to try and get it close. From the photos in the books, I think I'm pretty close.
