    AO Smith vs ST Louis

    HI:

Hope everyone is healthy and doing well........

I have a question....apologies in advance if this has been addressed in prior threads.....

Did St Louis cars and AO Smith cars come down the assembly line in bunches or just in a random haphazard manner?

For instance, if a given 67 was an AO Smith car..... were the cars immediately preceding and subsequent AO Smith cars?

    Thanks

    Regards
    Bill

John Hinckley's article in Corvette Enthusiast magazine (6/2006) says the cars from Smith were delivered into the plant by rail and delivered to a scheduling area until needed. Since St Louis ran body and paint only on one shift it would make sense to me that bodies were mixed from both plants according to the schedule.

am i safe to say, only AO smith bodies had the brackets for the side exhaust option? so when a side exhaust car was on line, it had to
fall in sequence for that option to be added.. well am i correct or is this all hear say

false. while only St Louis had the tooling to trim the bird cage for side pipes only cars ordered with N14 got the notches. All other bodies had the bracket
