    rear ID

    I noticed numbers on the upper lip of the rear end housing. 8080888 something like that, What is that telling me.

      I suspect that you're misinterpreting the numbers in the series as this would not be any GM casting or part number, at least not one applicable to any Corvette.

          Roger -- it's probably 3830303. Off my early '65 I used to have. Has fine-thread fill plug; also note plastic/nylon ? vent.
