Will a poorly connected battery cause the engine to stumble when accellerating from a slow speed - 5/10 MPH or is more likely carburation? The battery is a new side post Delco battery with a battery disconect installed.

If you're talking about your '72, probably not. Once started, it will run fine with the battery disconnected.

I hesitate to jump in here with all the experts but isn't that indicative of a poorly adjusted accelerator pump?
