Arizona Chapter Online Judging School Success!

Just wanted to say thank you to the Gary Craig, Phil D'Allesandro, Brad Vigesaa, the Arizona Chapter, Gary Bosselman and all the others behind the scenes that made the first NCRS online Judging School on Saturday a reality. I think I saw close to 80 NCRS members participating and Gary Craig did a great job leading out the presentation. Going online is a learning curve, but I thought that the leaders and the participants did a good job of making the first online judging school a success. As several people replied during the school, being able to see the photos from 1 foot away instead of 100 during a national judging school made things much easier to see and understand.

Thank you also to Mike Ingham, David Brigham and the NCRS Board for allowing this to happen. I know that there has been resistance to putting information out online like this in the past due to security reasons, and I appreciate the board being willing to look at this as a way to keep members engaged during this trying time of social distancing.

I took notes and learned a lot about the process of hosting an online judging school and the Nebraska Chapter is working towards putting one on in the near future.

Again, Congrats on trailblazing the NCRS into the future!

I attended and it was well done and went pretty smooth considering that this was the first time this webinar was tried by the presenters. The interactive Webex format would likely be hard to do with bigger groups. A broadcast format could work though. With everyone spread out so much, this would be a great way to learn.

Yes, it worked well and I too thank all those that took the risk and hard work to set it all up. However, I still prefer in-person sessions, as it is many times that the personal interactions and group discussion really enhances the learning. Let's hope we don't have to do this kind of thing in the future, but retain it as a good option in certain circumstances. As the volunteer who is risking his health to test a coronavirus vaccine said, we are not working for a "new normal", we are working to return to normal.

I attended. The IT media was as good as the content. This media has tremendous potential. Excellent program - looking forward to more.

Two-thumbs up to the presenters and AZ chapter. I'm sure it was a ton of work to organize.

I was planing on attending the Judging school in AZ regional. I had to back out when my mother got ill.
I wish I had known about the online class. Seems like a great idea to keep interest going during this virus.

Thanks to Gary Craig, Phil D'Allesandro, Brad Vigesaa, and the Arizona Chapter members presenting Gary Bosselman's research.

We attended and in some respects have the information on my laptop was better the watching from the back row in a large conference room.

I attended as well. Kudos to Gary and the AZ chapter. Gary Bosselman's research was A+ as usual and the IT part worked great. Nice to see those close up photos right in front of you. The format is especially good when the topic is very detail oriented.

Very good point, you can zoom in on all the slides and get very up close and personal. In fact, it could be a suggestion that all these kind of schools have the PowerPoint or other slides available to download and view in that manner.

This was a great way to present information. I would like to personally that the National board for making the difficult decision to move forward with this school. My wife and I are still new to the NCRS and learning every day. With the global lock down, we were very disappointed to see so many judging schools being cancelled. When we learned of this school we changed our weekend plans so that we would be able to attend.
The Arizona Chapter did a great job of presenting the meeting in a very professional manner. It was a great way to be learning in the new world.
I hope for the day when we are able to share the friendship and social gatherings again as that is also important. In this the uncertain world times it is great to have the safety of staying home, yet learning from some of the best people in the world.
A good leader leads the people from above them. A great leader leads the people from within them."--M. D. Arnold
