    Warren Axle Plant

Does anyone know the correct name of the Warren axle plant? Does anyone know where to find any history about their operations? Thanks?

Well, most GM plants had a number of name changes over the years as GM "re-organized" and "re-jiggered" the various manufacturing divisions. At one time it was called "Chevrolet-Warren" even though it made components for all GM cars and trucks. Later, I believe it became a transmission plant and likely was transferred to the Hydramatic Division which later became part of GM Powertrain. I believe it was closed in the last several years although I think I just heard that GM was making respirators there.

Did Dana ever make rear ends for Corvettes? I was told that the patterns I was making for the foundry Carrier & case castings was for a Corvette in the 60'S

Dana made differential components for early C1 Corvettes with positraction units and also C2 1963 - 64 with positraction were a Dana design unit.
Corvette 1980 - 82 used a Dana " 44 " series differential. C4 Corvettes were fitted with either Dana " 36 " or Dana " 44 " depending on transmission used. The differential cross member support for C2 and C3 should have the Dana " diamond " logo on it.

Thanks . that is what I thought. Think Dana was the first to make the pos. rear ends. The factory is in Fort Wayne IN, near where I lived & worked. Castings were made at Albion Malleable in MI.
