Another carpet question

Is the hole in the rear side carpet slotted for the rear compartment drain hoses? If it's not slotted, then the factory installed the carpet before the hoses.

The hole in the old carpet is slotted but it's not original (nor installed very well).

Can you tell what I'm doing this weekend?

Here's the new carpet laid up against drain hose. Should I just slot the carpet? Or do I need to remove/install the drain tube?

Checked my early 71. Sept 70 build. There is a slit in the carpet leading to a hole cut in the carpet for the drain tube. Attached pics - slit is hard to see, but it's there. Not an easy thing to get a picture of.
