63 Coupe power window switch shield

Apparently the "cup" 3824041 that holds the power window switch in my console and, screws to the tranny tunnel on my 63 has just been discovered to be fiberglass when to be honest I never really looked at it and thought it was metal. I have talked with a few people who have 64s and 66s and their switch cup/shield is metal.
So is the fiberglass one I have another "one of" for a 63? ie original?

Dennis - I added Power Windows to my 65 Coupe using parts from a 63 Corvette and the 'cup' was fiberglas but I have factory PW in both my 65 396 Roadster and 66 L79 Coupe and the cups in both those factory installations are fiberglas. That cup is really just an enclosed receptacle for the bulk of the PW switch and harness connector. The switch on my midyears is screwed up into the console. The attached pic is a bit busy but you can just make out the flanged upper part of the 'cup' in my 65 Roadster.IMG_3921.jpg

Great, thanks I appreciate the response, wonder why some are metal cans and others fiberglass? Must have been whatever was handy at the time?
