    Body Build date question

I recently had looked at a 67 for someone and I am questioning the build date. The trim tag indicates an H30 date (March 30th), but the tank sticker has an expected date of April 21st.

It was my understanding the trim tags were attached just as they went down the line, and the build process took about 1 -1 1/2 days. Am I wrong in my thoughts or this there something I am overlooking?

In advance, thanks for your consideration.

The VIN number should correlate close to the trim tag date. The tank sticker date is a forecast for assembly which can vary based on parts potential availability.......

According to the birthday calculator, production date is April 12th. Is that a probable timeline?

If body is AOS body, it took 7-14 days after the body was built for the car to arrive in St Louis and be built into a full car. Is the body AOS?? My guess is that it is.

You are correct Larry. I was of the opinion the trim tag was not affixed to the car until it started down the line. Learn something everyday!

My 67 coupe has a body build date of H30 (March 30th) but I have a STL body with production date of 3/31/67. My tank sticker had an expected prod of 3/17. Vin is 152xx. I would think AO bodies would lag 7-10 days for rail transport to STL.

              Tim,

I know you are requesting information about 1967 production dates.

My 1965 coupe has a A.O. Smith built body A-3826 with a production date of K24 (Thursday June 24th), the engine was built on (0701) Thursday July 1st and the NCRS confirmation letter says the car was built on Friday July 16th.
