    Material for Home Made Masks

Wishing everyone in these trying times to stay healthy!

Read this article about an off the shelf material that works great for home made masks and thought I'd share it with my NCRS colleagues.

Vicki has made some from my "old" ncrs tee shirts. Hint: they were too small to wear anyway. Put a coffee filter inside the 2 folds.

Some gal was making them with Hepa vacuum cleaner bags - no idea of their effectiveness.

I am fortunate, I have several N95 3M masks. I found them last week in the back of my paint supply cabinet. I am hunkered down and becoming a hermit

My wife has been making masks for friends and family using cotton sheet material with plain old vacuum cleaner bags cut to size for the inner filter. She also read that the shop towels make a good removable filter material, filtering at the 91% level. Her designs, imported from the internet, have a small pouch allowing one to replace the vacuum cleaner bag or shop towel inner filter. In addition, she has stolen all of my stash of pipe cleaners to make a pinchable nose clamp.
