Passing of Patrick Collins UPDATE PLEASE READ

Received word that long time Southern California Chapter member Patrick Collins passed away tonight, Saturday, April 4. He was preceded in death by his lifetime love Kay five months ago. They are together again.

Because of Patrick's complicated medical history, an autopsy was performed to determine his cause of death - it was Corona Virus.

More than a little ironic for a man who survived two tours in Viet Nam - survived two years of dialysis for kidney failure caused by agent orange exposure - survived a kidney transplant that was donated by his wife Kay only to be killed by a pandemic virus.

Please do whatever you can to protect yourselves, your family and friends so that this may be the last post of this type on the NCRS Discussion Board.

Sorry to hear this. Patrick was someone who was devoted to his family, NCRS and his chapter. May he rest in peace.

The very first NCRS judging meet I attended was the FALL 2009 So. CAL Chapter meet at The Commons shopping center in Calabasas CA. The meet was in a corner of the parking lot. I had registered my 65 for flight judging, and had no idea what to expect. The first person I met at the meet was working the Registration desk, Pat Collins. He gave me a warm welcome, and I have never forgotten that and the whole experience of that meet. My car made 2nd Flight, and that meet launched my love affair with this club. I visited with Pat and Kay often at other meets, and visited their home once out in Cucamonga or wherever it was out east of LA. Back then Pat was talking about getting out of CAL and moving to Colorado. I know he and Kay finally made it a few years ago. They were great people, and will be missed by all in and outside of the club who knew them. Rest in Peace Pat and Kay.
