1967 Questions Seat rails and informational books

First, thank you for any help you can give me.

I retired a year ago and now have time to work on my 1967, especially since our Governor has us on a 3 week stay at home. Last year I restored the dash cluster and worked on the engine. This year I am putting a new interior in. This leads to my two questions.

    1. Years ago I may have moved the drivers seat to the riders side and riders side to the drivers. I am not sure, it would have been over 30 years ago. Anyway the seats are rubbing the other interior parts causing damage. Could that be my problem, or were the slide rails somehow misaligned? This car will never meet NCRS standards, as the engine is not correct. However, I want to do the best job I can in putting it back together.

    2. What books would help me with this and other projects. I have a lot of books packed away in a storage unit, as we are attempting to sell our house and buy another with more garage space. I have already bought several books again and I have no problem buying more. I just need something to describe and possibly have pictures and diagrams to help me with this and other projects.

Thank you again, for any help you can offer!

    Ted,
The seats are interchangeable from side to side, so that's not causing any rubbing issues. Possibly collapsed seat foam.

As to the books you should buy 1. Get the A.I.M. for your car. 2. Get the TIM&JG for you year car. 3. Noland Adams published a very good book about these cars, as well. Many of these books can be bought through the NCRS book store. Many are, also, available on line.

          Dan,

          Thanks for the help!

The drivers seat is rubbing on the seat belt re-tractor. The riders seat is rubbing on the quarter panel on the right rear.

          God bless!

I just finished restoration on my Original seats
i would remove the seats and soda blast both tracks and spray paint with cast blast
after you but lubricating oil in both tracks and let sit... rub off aces oil and apply lithium grease on tracks
make sure all four bolts are good and tight to the floor and you should be good to go

              Enzo,

              Thank your!

I am currently doing the entire interior. The rails are out. I will follow your instructions.

it could be the retractor is in backwards. the bulge should be facing outward.

I don't know why the passengers seat would rub the quarter panel - shouldn't come close to it. seat is stable? hockey sticks are screwed in tight? seats are bolted to floor tight? no shims - right?

                  Dan,

Seat are out right now. Replacing covers and entire interior. Just trying to figure out what might have been wrong so I fix it.

Do you have a picture of the front and back rails in your car?

                  Thank you!

                  God bless!
