1965 Key usage

I just started reading the 1965 Corvette Owners Guide. On page 5 it says the octagonal ignition key is used for the ignition switch and door locks. It says the rounded key operates the glove box and spare tire lock. On page 33 it says the ignition key unlocks the spare. Which is correct?

Octagonal key should fit the ignition and doors only. The oval key should fit the glove box and spare tire lock only.
