    Original dealer key tag?

Had not been in the glove box of my '66 in many years. Today I went through it and found what may be an original dealer keg tag/chain, if there is such a thing. In the photo you will see the Stock #, Year, Make, Model and Color and the below stamped on the bottom of the tag. The car was sold new in Georgia.

    J.H. CORP. DEARBORN, MI
    582-2700 FORM
    JH-3P

Wondering if this is of value to keep with the car's documents? Has anyone seen this type of tag used before and do you think it is from the original dealer or a used car lot? Has anyone heard of J.H. Corp in Dearborn, MI?

J.H. Corp is the manufacturer of the tag. They made dealership supplies, forms, advertising, etc.

JH Corporation offers Auto Dealer Supplies, Promotional Products, Flags and Banners at affordable prices to aid dealerships promote and sell automobiles.

Will reach out to them and see if they know when my tag was made. Thanks for the info!

        Hi John
I'm Pretty sure that the JH Corp is the printer that is the form number so the dealer could call up the printer and order more tags when he ran out. Did you google it? Or look for printers in Dearborn and ask them about it.
I don't think it is from 1966 as it would probably have the phone number with a letter prefix. For instance in OKC one was Jackson 5-0000
which was 525-0000 from the phone dial.
This is all just my humble opinion of course!

Brad and William, I went to the website for JH Corp and sent them an email asking about the tag and its year of distribution. Hope they reply! Thank you for your comments!

Your tag says Dearborn, MI and your research says they didn't have a facility there until the 1970's, so it's not a new car tag for a 1966. My guess is this was a tag used either when the car was sold as a used car, or maybe used by a dealership or repair shop when the car was in for service.

That looks about like every used car dealer's inventory tag I ever saw when I was in the business years ago.....when the car was traded in or bought for resale the keys went on the tag with an invoice number and were hung up on a big keyboard onto a cup hook along with 50 other sets of keys.
No offense, but I don't think you have anything special there...

Jack, I suspected the 1970's move to Dearborn precluded it from being the original dealer too. Thanks for all the input guys.

Yeah, sorry...didn't want to come off as a "Captain Obvious", but maybe I did.

Anyway, even with all that's said above, I'd still keep it with the car. It's old and crusty and kinda cool in my opinion, it has some history with your car (albeit non-special), and doesn't take up much room...but I'm a bit of a hoarder.

I would keep this item, just for fun, and throw it in the glovebox. I just love old stuff. I've been buying old matchbooks on eBay from businesses where my car was originally delivered, Cresco, Pa.. Usually cost about $3.
