Hello, new to the forum. I just acquired a 1967 Corvette and have begun tinkering with it. I noticed a few small issues, like the the heater control knobs are very hard to pull out and push in. Is there a way to lubricate the cables? Also the headlights don't rotate open, but the I did notice the interior lights dim a bit when activating the switch. Any thoughts on where to start first? Thanks.

Re: Interior controls
Hello Kevin
welcome to the club and the Tech Discussion Board, and congratulations on your new acquisition. Might as well learn about how the headlight motors work (and why they fail) to open and close using the rocker switch under your instrument cluster. See the Search Box under the word Society above right, enter headlight and motor in that box and click. For searching you must put the word and between two key words. This will lead you to 100s of previous threads about removing and opening up the motors, disassembling, and cleaning, and re-greasing them. They come out of the nose of the car, and can be tricky to remove and replace the first time. But easy after you get the hang of it. For your heater controls, remove the glovebox, and the right side radio side panel, find where the cables connect to the heater box above passenger's feet. Disconnect, work the cables to try to free them up. Squirt in some "Kable-ease" if necessary. You get the idea. Others will offer additional tips. PM me or email if you need more assistance. Good luck- Top

Welcome to the forum, remove the cables an soak them in WD 40 or a similar oil. Check the motion of everything that the cables are attached to, too be sure that the end user is free as well. The dimming is showing a strain on the system.Hopefully it is just the grease hardening up inside your head light motors. When you disconnect the motors from the bucket shaft make sure the buckets move freely. I had to change all of the bearings on my 65 a few years ago because of slow motion.
