The 5th Edition 70-72 TIMJG states "all OEM bags had a manufacturing date code". The 6th Edition 70-72 TIMJG states "The bags have a manufacturer's name or logo and date printed in the lining." Then in the The 6th Edition, several lines down, it states "Some are also plain cotton with no logo or date printed in the lining." Both editions state that some of the date stamps were water soluble and may have been dissolved from water leakage and therefore not to deduct unless a stamped date is later than the car.
My question is do we now believe that not all OEM bags had stamped dates in the lining and therefore the date should not be used as a judging criteria except as a deduct for a stamped date that is later than the car?
