    2013 Grand sport Brake question

Time has finally come to replace the dusty factory brake pads on the car. I've read that ceramic pads work well and reduce the enormous amount of dust that factory pads make.

Any recommendations of brand? Factory- 6 pads per front caliper vs. aftermarket 2 pads per caliper? Thanks!

On my C7 Z06, I replaced the factory pads with Powerstop Z26 brake pads. I could not drive more than 50 miles with the stock pads without having significant brake dust deposited on the front wheels. The reduction in brake dust with the Powerstop pads was dramatic. They are not recommended for track use, but they are fine for street driving.

How many miles did you get out of the original pads? My 2010 GS has 20K and I'm starting to hear a faint screech at one of the wheels and I'm wondering if it is new pad time. I have not investigate the cause of the noise but based on the dust I see it could be the pad(s) are due.
Please post or PM me your choice of new pads and your opinion of them... Al

I've had good luck with Repco Deluxe/Deluxe Plus on other cars. Virtually no dust or noise... slightly more pedal effort, but not great for track events.

As you may know Repco (Australia) designed and built the C4 brake system, but I think they've been acquired since then and go by a different name.

            Al,
The answer to your question (and yes I know your question was not directed to all of us viewers) will very much depend on ones driving style. I have 90K+ on my Z06 with no sign of brake pad wear, but almost all my driving is long distance highway miles. I avoid stopping if I can.

              A second for PowerStop Z26
I replaced at 7000 miles due to the dust
The reduction in dust was remarkable.

I have the same issue with my 13 GS, you leave home with clean wheeles 40- 50 miles, looks as if you have not cleaned them in weeks. Thanks to very one

Thanks for the replies. Seems we have a winner. Just to finally answer, I believe the clock shows about 34k miles. pads are done, probably should have given the brakes attention sooner.

I only have 14,000 on mine, think I'm going ahead and replace them.

very little dust, but lots of sparks.

Wowser! Nebraska slotted rotors, I presume.

I changed the pads on my "08" a couple of years ago with hawk brake pads with great results in way less dust and stopping power

I just changed the pads on my "18-Z06" this week with hawk brake pads that is more for performance and hope to get the same results

So you have less stopping power with these pads?
