    Dennis,

Details step-by-step on what you're doing/getting to the TDB, etc. Then what you're doing aftewards.

If you close your browser, you won't stay logged in.

Am running tests and not had any problem staying logged in Chrome or FireFox for 24 hours "As long as I leave the browser open after I've logged in".

That doesn't match my experience here with firefox.

My browser stays on 24/7 and I'm still having to log in. The most recent time happened after this computer was inactive for about an hour and a half.

        Jim,

Have you logged off and cleared your cookies and cache? Then logged back on.

        Try that.

Firefox I stay signed in until I close and reopen Firefox basically I have to sign-in once a day. I belong to many forums, that have had server upgrades, software upgrades but this is the only one that does not "remember me" once the box is checked over multiple days/weeks/months.

            Bill,

What software and version are your other forums using. Look at the bottom of the page to find out.

Are they trying to synchronize passwords across 4 different platforms like NCRS is?

The NCRS Remember Me function is an extremely complicated and complex cookie programming.

            Just sayin',

              Gary,

I did that early on, right after the IT work and I saw no change in TDB behavior.

              I'll try it again, though.

Edit: OK, I've logged out and logged back in with firefox. We'll see what happens. One note: When I logged out there was a vbulletin message stating that all cookies had been cleared. I checked and NONE had been cleared. I manually removed all of them while logged out.

                    Dennis,

Yes, we had to upgrade from 4.2.1 to 4.2.5 or else the forum would've been shut off.

                      FYI...

I was signed into the website. In another tab I accessed https://www.ncrs.org/mysql/prod/ ( This is the Chapter Chairman's area ). I restarted my laptop. I was still signed into https://www.ncrs.org/mysql/prod/ .

I did have to sign into the website to access the tech board. Q. Is https://www.ncrs.org/mysql/prod/ using different cookies?

If it's not breaking any confidentiality, can you share the forum upgrade strategy? Isn't the version we just upgraded to already at end of life? I thought, and I could be wrong, vBulletin current version was v5.4.5.

                          Dennis,

Basically, the server had to be upgraded to enable the NCRS services to continue work.

Underlying software (PHP and database) are depreciated (discontinued) and wouldn't be permitted on the server after April.

Both PHP and the database software have updated security enhancements.

vBulletin v5 has an extremely bad reputation. Users/admins don't like it and the admins forums report it as being problematic. If you notice corvetteforum still uses vBulletin 4. Internet Brands owns both vBulletin 5 software company and corvetteforum.

The Remember Me function, due to the updates, will probably never work as it did before. Rob and John have hundreds of hours invested in the server and software migration upgrades. Especially, trying to get the Remember Me functionality to work across all of the different NCRS software.

Interesting that ever since I began logging into the new server, all replies to my posts went to my junk mail folder. Now all of a sudden, today, it is going into my inbox on Outlook, as it did before the upgrade.
