You are correct. Both Chevrolet-Chevelle-Camaro (not Corvette) pans are NOT Z28 pans because of the baffles on the inside but from the outside the pans are the same. The red pan is marked "1969" and "3961399" and the gray pan is marked "1970-1974" and "3974252" but you can not read it in 1st photo.

As I mentioned, I do not think that most 1969 Chevrolet small blocks (except Corvette, of course) were originally equipped with the 3961399 oil pan. I believe that only later ones were so-equipped. Earlier almost surely were equipped with the 3912396 or 3937914. The problem is that I do not know how to differentiate between these 3 oil pans. Part numbers are rarely stamped on oil pans and finding NOS-in-the-box examples of these 3 pans will be well-nigh impossible since they were all discontinued more than 50 years ago.

In the photo below is a 1968 Chevrolet oil pan, GM # 3937914. It's a one year wonder. I owned one several years ago that had the same shape. It might be the same as the 68 Z28 oil pan, GM # 3927134, except for the inside baffles but I am not sure.
