Delco P-1078 shock

Would like to confirm that Delco 'Pleasurizer' series, #P-1078 is an aftermarket front shock, fitment C2-C3 generations, likely with standard suspension hydraulic (not gas charged) valving. Having a hard time successfully cross referencing the Pleasurizer and/or 500 series; perhaps someone has chart or booklet with same. Thanks in advance.

Jeff, I have a 1970 United Delco parts manual that has a listing for both Pleasurizer and Pleasurizer HD shocks. It lists #P-1078 as fitting 63-69 Corvette-- All exp. H.D. These are REAR SHOCKS, not front as you say. The fronts are #P-1003. And yes, these are standard hydraulic shocks. I assume the Pleasurizer H.D units would replace the original F41 units.

Since the parts manual is from 1970 I cannot tell you if they fit later C3 models.

I recently purchased a set of NOS #P1003 fronts on eBay for a very reasonable price. I removed the foil name tag and painted them the correct gray color. I will be replacing the gas shocks that ride terrible. I only had one of the original front shocks in a box of parts when I purchased the car. I checked and the dimensions are almost identical to the original. I hope to install the new fronts and the original rears when the weather breaks.

I hope this helps. I also had a very difficult time finding an application charts for the Pleasurizer shocks. I searched the internet without success. The only place I found the chart was in the back of this old United Delco Parts Manual.

Thank you very much. I thought P2060 was rear in Pleasurizer -- perhaps you could look that up?
Is the cross reference in your United Delco Parts Manual take up several pages? If so, that would be a very handy set of data - perhaps scanned to pdf or jpg photograph.

The P2060 is listed as the HD REAR (F41?). I have attached a few photos of the catalog. I could not scan since the catalog pages and binding are very fragile and feared I would damage the catalog if flattened on the scanner.

The catalog has some very useful information including applications charts for battery, battery cables, tune-up, distributor, vacuum advance, alternator, voltage regulators, starter and carburetor rebuild kits for many makes and models by year and engine.

An interesting note is on Page 2 where the Pleasurizer is described as a gas filled shock. I always thought these were just standard hydraulic shocks. When I purchased the NOS P1003 units they did not have the "strap" which usually holds typical gas shocks in the compressed or closed position. In fact, when worked by hand I don't feel any gas resistance. The P1003 I have are date coded 313-68 so Delco may have changed the design by late 1969. The shocks are marked "P1003", "3198003" with date code "313-68", 313th day of 1968.

I have also attached a photo of the 2 NOS P1003 painted with an original March 1967, #3186906 shock in the middle for comparison.
