Testing the c2 headlight micro switch

The bulb on the dash is not working and before I take the dash out to possibly replace the bulb, is there a way to test these switches for power where they are?

    thanks

There is no power to the switches at the headlight motors. They complete the ground circuit to the bulb until the headlight buckets are fully open. The power is supplied to the bulb when the headlight switch is pulled.

With the buckets closed or partially open the dash indicator light should be on. the headlight switch must be on. If the indicator is NOT "on" under these conditions your bulb is probably burned out and needs replacing...

You can also disconnect a switch, gray wire, short it to ground and see if the indicator comes on. Again the headlight switch must be on...... This will tell you that you have a bad switch on both buckets or a wiring problem.
