On my 74 model, the left headlights will open or rise up subsequent to shut down after driving the car. I restart the car and the headlight retracts appropriately and stays down after shutdown. Could anyone shed some expertise on what could be causing the headlights to open after driving. Thank you

Re: 1974 Headlights
Derek, your 74 has two (dogbone)_ control valves for the headlights, one on left and one on right. In your case the control valve on the drivers (left) side is likely bad, or a vacuum line running to or from it leaks. You will find the control valves mounted up high under the nose; if you have an AIM refer to UPC 12C sheet 9. Check the hoses. If the hoses are good try replacing the valve, swap left for right ands see if problem moves to the other side. You will likely need a new control valve, but beware some of the chinese repros don't work so good.- Top
