C3 Body placement on dolly

I am a doing an body off frame restore for my 1977. I am using the Nolan Adams Body Lift Work Book. Kudos to him for sharing his expertise with novices like me! I have attached a photo.









Can anyone who has done this before offer any advice about placing the body on that frame. My frame dimensions are true to his plans. Sorry about the upside-down photo but you get the idea.

Here is a photo of the body dolly I built for my '74. I'm not sure where I got the plans but it may have been from Noland Adams. I did the restoration back in the late 80's but the dolly looks very similar to yours. It worked great. Since I didn't do the painting myself, I had to transport the body on the dolly to the paint shop but didn't trust transporting it on the dolly because of it's height. The nice thing about this dolly was that I was able to cut it down to a lower height for the trip. My main recommendation would be to get heavy duty casters, particularly if you transport it anywhere. Good luck with your project.

Where can I get the dimensions for this body dolly? I'm going to pull off the body of my 71 to do some mounts and seat belt anchor.also any hints on replacing the rivets on these mounts?

The body dolly in my above post was built from plans I received at a Bloomington Body Lift and Drop Course that I attended in the late '80's. If you send me a private message with your email address, I would be happy to scan the course document and forward it to you.
