    Oil Pan Center Bolt 427/425

I just purchased and received timing chain cover for 427/425 being built. The there are no threads or a weld nut in center to receive bolt coming up in center attaching oil pan. On each end are weld nuts on cover to receive bolts at end. Could someone clarify?

    Walter,
I'm not a BB guy but this picture appears to show the weld nut you say is missing on the cover you received.

65-66 BB only had the center bolt in timing cover and oil pan. that goes for Chevelles, and Impalas too

I have an 8" HB. I just purchased the timing chain cover from Zips. There is no weld nut just an 1/8 inch hole.

            Walter------

What you have is a later cover which had the hole but no weld-nut. For 1967+ the hole was there but unused.

Do you know if the cover with weld nut is available or will I have to weld a nut on myself?

It's apparently available in reproduction as seen above. As far as availability from GM, that ended a VERY long time ago.
