    C4 Hardtop Bolts

I am having a hard time finding Hardtop attachment bolts for my 1989 convertible. I would really appreciate any help you can give me.

    Ted,

I have the same hardtop for my 1996 convertible. It is also white. I have never installed it, but believe I have the hardware in one of the rear compartments of the car. If it would be helpful, I can take some pics and send them off to you. Please advise.

      Ron,

That would be wonderful! I have no idea the thread size, shape or how to install it.

I bought my 89 in 1988. I had it before many of the options were known, or at least made know to me. It has been a wonderful car. We have 239,000 + on it and it is still in great shape. Last year I cleaned it up and took it to its first car show and it won its class. Go figure?

I bought this top last week and drove to Rhode Island this week to pick it up. It will get painter bright red to match the car sometime soon.

This is not my most valuable car, but it is my baby.

      Thank you Ron!

      God bless!

      Ted

You might want to go to a Chevy dealer's parts department and have one of their Internet Communicators call up an exploded view of the hardtop and the attaching pieces, making notes of the part #s.

Thanks for replying. I did that and got 2 of the 3 numbers, but they were all discontinued.

I got out my die set and now I will try the Ace Hardware tomorrow. I just wish I could find some instructions or a video.

          Thanks again!

          God bless!

                  Dave,

That is really good information. I paid $900, but only missing bolts and a small decorative piece inside on the riders side.

I have one bolt as a guide for holding down the back and that is all.

I will let you know what happens.

                  God bless!

                    David,

                    Thank you for your help.

I had seen that YouTube, but was confused by part 1 which was putting the top on a coup. However, I have the sizes down and will try the Ace Hardware.

The bolt below is the only bolt that came with the hardtop and it wad in the rear hardtop tie down. I think that is where it goes, but I am not sure? It is 3 inches long.

I will let you know how I come out.

                    God bless!

                    Ted
