I was only referring to manifold size of 2-1/2 I understand there were smaller exhaust pipes all depending on engine size, but they should adjust 1967 Judging manual 7th edition page 202 States - All Big blocks exhaust systems use 2-1/2 pipes from manifold to the muffler .

The sentence you quote from the 1967 JG is absolutely correct: All big block exhaust systems use 2-1/2" pipes from the manifold to the muffler. In fact, this is true for all 1965-74 big block Corvettes EXCEPT 1969. The 1967 JG is referring only to 1967 Corvettes. So, any statement made in that JG is applicable only to 1967 Corvettes although it MAY also be applicable to other years

ok i understand now Joe , I guess 69 and even the L88 and ZL1 were using 2" pipes , I guess 69 was a different year for exhaust system, So why put a 2" pipes on a 69 L88 and ZL-1 wonder why they went that route , thanks Joe for clearing that up

I have a 71 LT-1. Low mileage correct car. I currently have Corvette Central aluminized welded exhaust system with the stock muffler. I am thinking about replacing the rear pipes with the welded N11 off-road mufflers. Looking for any thoughts on the CC N11 muffler vs. magnaflow? I have listened to a couple of video comparisons but would appreciate any member opinions. I am leaning in the direction of the N11. Thank you. Tom

I replaced my rear quiet rear welded system (from Corv Cent) with their N11 welded rear system a year ago last x-mas when CC was offering free shipping.
On my 67 327-350hp, I like their sound a lot more than others that have magnaflows on their cars. They fit perfectly too.

Don, really appreciate your comments. What you did is exactly what I am thinking. My quiet welded system from CC is still in great shape. I just want a little more sound from the rear of the car without creating too much noise. I love the fit of the CC exhaust systems. I also like a factory N11 option as well, my car is still in mostly original/correct condition. Thanks again for your reply, much appreciated. Tom Wiscomb

Of course, you understand that no 1971 Corvette was ever originally equipped with N-11 exhaust? The last year for N-11 exhaust was 1968.

I have a 1966 L72 car with an old correct welded N11 system. Would like to purchase a new system for a regional judging event next year. What is the best vendor to get the most accurate system from, that will pass judging ?

why purchase a new assembly if your old one is still good, just aged? If you loose a point or three for wear, rust, age on the Condition side, or a few points for Configuration, Date on the Originality side, what's the difference in the bottom line insofar as points? The only difference I see is your wallet will be lighter if you buy a new assembly.

Thanks, James for the CC advice. Should have given more details, I've owned car 30 years, and this exhaust was on it in 1990. Car's staying in the family and needs to be replaced sometime; mufflers are just starting to give way. You're right Don, I only lost 3 points at the last regional in 2015, but chances are I'll lose more in 2021 for condition.
