This is in reference to the 3247 carburetor, GM stamped number.
The JG makes no mention in my guide of the EI stamped after the GM number.
I have a September build car and the carburetor is as best I know the original factory installed unit for a L72.
My research indicates there are 3 generations of the 3247 main body. It has a casting number as follows...6R 2829B
Now, I've observed the differences being at the base of the casting the object of variances on the what I call first and second
generations. The 2nd gen also has the "EI" stamped after the GM 7 digit number. The 3 gen has a different cast number & was more likely a much later rendition not used on the production line for 1966.
So, my question is, were early production cars (Sept to Dec.) without the "EI" stamped and are there verified examples besides the one pictured in the JG? I await someones response to my inquiry, thank you for any feedback you can offer to me.
