    1970 odd ball part

The emergency flasher has resistor sliped over the tabs on the flasher, it has
    Z8 172
    .47 MFD
    100 volt DV
    and CDE

anyone know if they available? My flasher works but very slow thanks RDR

That's a capacitor, not a resistor. It's likely there to suppress electrical noise which would be heard in the radio.

That's a radio suppression capacitor Ron. It prevents a clicking noise in the radio on AM when the flasher flashes. 0.47 micro farads @ 100VDC. CDE is the manufacturer - Cornell Dubblier(sp). The Z8 number is most likely the manufacturers part number.

That is a common value - can be purchased anywhere, but probably not NCRS correct. Anyhow, that capacitor is probably okay and is not your problem. Most - but not all current DVMs on the market will test capacitors. Have you tried a new flasher? Do you have higher current bulbs in your parking and tail lights?

We have seen that situation repeatedly. Also they most all seem to have the capicator on the brake lights and the engine coil -- in spite of what the AIM shows.

Ron, do you have the correct bulbs installed I believe 1034 is correct if your using 1157 that will effect flashing rate. Original flasher for directional I think 224 stamped on flasher somewhere.
