does anyone have any images of the battery access door on an air conditioned 63 to 67 that they could post. Trying to determine the finish or lack of finish on the battery side of the door along with undercoating or lack of undercoating on the tire side. Also looking for images that show the rubber seal on an unrestored access door. Did all AC cars the rubber seal glued to the access door ? Thanks in advance for any images, information or comments you may care to share.

Gary, it appears that the battery side of the door has never been painted. I suspected that since it was added after the blackout paint was done in the engine compartment and your images confirm that theory. Thanks for posting your images, they are a great help.

I suspect that you might want to get more specific about the VIN range/year that your seeking information for - in late 1965, Wayne M (#23564) and I (#23561) have established that the person drilling the holes in this panel had one hole that he was drilling in the wrong place........

Loren, the build date of the vehicle is February 22, 1966. The sequential # is 1147XX, the first part of the is 194676S. does this fall anywhere in the time frame of the incorrectly drilled holes?

John, I would think you're safe. At the time that it occurred, I think that it's safe to say that we, and our pictures, were accorded the same degree of attention and respect as given to the founders of leprosy.
