C2 Luggage Rack Installation Instructions

I am purchasing a C2 luggage rack that I'm considering putting on my C2 Convertible. I'm looking for an instruction sheet or, if there was an article in the Restorer magazine, a reference to that article would be much appreciated.

Gerald : just the other day I removed a luggage rack from a 65 roadster which was on the car when I bought it in 1970. as I'm currently restoring the 65 FI, I'm not going to reinstall the rack. I believe there were multiple racks of different configuration that chevy dealers offered to c-2 owners. post a photo of the rack u are installing and if looks like my rack, I can post measurements of where the two holes were drilled in the rear top surround and a hole each in the rear bumpers. if u haven't purchased a rack yet, the one I have needs to go to a good home. mike

you can have it. chrome plating not bad. pretty sure its a dealer installed piece. u going to lakeland? I can bring it.would be a pita to box it up and ship it. Carlisle in august also would work. mike

its one piece, except where it mounts to the rear top surround, there are a pair of pivots(maybe 2" x2" each) ao unless your suitcase is huge, doubt it'll fly back to conn. perhaps one of the New England guys can haul it back in their car/truck. try dick cappella from Boston, ex-NCRS president. mike. or u can stop by our farm and get it anytime. cumberland, md
