1957 front grille oval

Good evening,

I recently purchased a 1957 convertible. I noticed holes around the front grille oval. Do I have a poor reproduction oval? It doesn't seem to be big enough to cover the body holes. How do I fix this issue. Any info is greatly appreciated.

Maybe a poor reproduction frontend. I once had to remake the entire opening on one as the grille would pass through it without even touching.
