Bruce, from what I have seen, you will lose 10 points with a properly dated repo windshield.

Not true for the newly available windshields.

If I may ask...who is making zero deduct windshields with correct tint and ASI color?

Their is only one source who still holds the original licenses and manufacturing rights: Pilkington Classic. I heard they were revising their glass tint band.

            Let's see if Jim agrees.

Right you are Larry. I've been working with Pilkington Classic for 3 years to correct their windshield. After many meetings, e-mails and finally sending them my original glass, they sent me a prototype last spring for final approval. I met with our Chapter Judging chairman to compare the prototype to another original and we agreed that the new ones are now correct. This was also confirmed by the C-2 team leaders. No deduction if correctly dated.

Bruce, call Randy at 1-800-848-1351. I know several that have bought them and had them delivered to their home. I don't know who you talked as Pilkington is a world wide company. You need to talk to the Pilkington Classic division. Their customer service is second to none.

                      Jim,
I know you've worked on this for a long time and your efforts are greatly appreciated. Just to clarify, I now have an EZ Eye w/s that is losing points. I'm going for the Duntov next so I need to replace it for max points. Will this windshield pass with zero deductions? It's a pain to change out on a coupe. I've been waiting for Pilkington to produce this w/s correctly. I even bought an NOS weather strip just in case it happened.

Jim, what is the cost of the new windshield? Thank you for efforts in this endeavor in this project, it was long overdue.

                          Re: windshield glass

I can't say what they charge as I never received a bill from them. However, a friend bought 2 correctly dated windshields and the total was slightly under $500 for both. That included $50 crating charge but no shipping as they were delivered to a local Pilkington distribution center and he picked them up there. I suggest asking if there's a distribution center near you when ordering. It can save a lot of $$$ in shipping costs.
