67 key code for ignition.

I have my cylinder out and have searched the archives for the key code so I am taking this short cut and asking rather than looking for another 1/2 hour.
I am on my way to the shop today and am going to look for the code so I can have the correct key made. I will look at what I have and check back in a while to see if I get answers.
I have about 30 keys that fit and once in a while one works. I want to get it right.
Seems to me that I used to look at the glove box lock, but from what I read it says the code is on the ignition cylinder? Going back to my days at Chevy there was a place to find the code.
Also, what key operates what. Door, ignition, glove box, and tire lock?

For '67, the "A" letter key operates the ignition and doors. The "B" letter key operates the glove box and tire lock. The Ign/Door key code should be stamped into the side of the ignition lock core (if it's original) and into the side of the door lock case.

There is a 4 digit key code "typically" stamped on the ignition key cylinder.
One key operates both ignition & doors.
The other key operates the glove box & spare tire lock.

hi dom, i also have a '67 and just had keys made. the glove box lock tumbler has to be removed from it's housing to read
the code.

Thanks. Had my head up my a??. Door locks and ignition all have same code! Guess all i need is to go to key shop? Hope all tumblers are good. 42 + K on car.

I have this key cutter and code book I bought at a swap meet many years ago. I can cut you a key to the code and drop it in the mail if that will help.
