head lights do not go on.

    Hey Guys,
Have a 65 the head light buckets to not go up . Where should i go with a test light? Start at the lights or go to the switch. Or could it be fuse?

No fuse............just a 20-30 amp circuit breaker on driver side floor level.

Problem could be in switch contacts, circuit breaker, or in the firewall electrical connectors which have pulled partially apart. Or bad ground for motors.

    1. Check circuit breaker for 12 volt power both in and out.

    2. Check for power at headlight motors by carefully disconnecting one or both plug in connectors at the motors. See if power occurs when helper toggles the headlight up/down switch up and down.

    3. If no power at motors check firewall connectors. This is a high probability of one being loose.

    4. Also check headlight motor grounds to make sure they are tight and connected (no electrical resistance between motor case and ground).

    5. To confirm bad switch, use a 12 gage long jumper wire from battery to headlight motor connections. Make a solid connection with alligator clips at motors to avoid sparks and arcs. Do your connect and disconnect with the jumper wire at the battery.

Could be issues with motors or bearings...........but more likely the switch contacts. Especially if it came about quickly and/or effected both headlights.
