Great movie. Experienced this movie in the articulated movie seats.EXCELLENT CHOICE.I learned a lot about the corporate mentality of the Big Blue Oval. Many c1/c2 corvettes in the background.Would recommend this movie for any car buff...Peter.

Super movie which has become my new favorite car movie (surpassing Vanishing Point and Two Lane Blacktop).

Great vintage sports car racing scenes with midyear Corvettes and old Cobras.

With a mid engine, that's not a Cobra. But the front doesn't look like a Porsche either. Perhaps a Cooper? I just saw an excellent documentary about the same Ford vs Ferrari story on Netflix called the 24 Hour War. No love story but lots of great racing footage and commentary by the real people not actors.

If you liked the movie, there is a book called "Go Like Hell" by A.J. Baime that tells the story. I would surmise that in the movie when Carroll Shelby wrote on and raised the pit board that said "Go Like Hell" would be an acknowledgment of the book. But that is just my speculation.

Yes, it's a "King Cobra"... a Cooper Monaco chassis with a 289 Ford basically in the same "tune" as the racing Cobras. The Cooper Monaco was an early mid-engine sports racer that ran in the SCCA C-modified class with engines over two-liters. They were at the Kent Seafair races back in '64 when I was still living in Seattle.

By the late sixties the type had evolved to the mighty McLaren M8 with all-aluminum big block Chevy engines, my all time favorite race car...simple, light, and faster than F1 cars of the era.

Right on Duke; my favorite also. Saw these cars at Road America (1969-1973) Still remember the sound of these Big Blocks going through
the hills/valleys. It took years to erase some of speed records of the many race courses they visited. Picture on one below.

After I watched the movie I watched 2 intervues with Shellby. I did not know he built 2 cars for Corvette & was going to worke for them but Zora would have none of it & pushed him out. He did say that he & Zora were good friends.I had a 65 Corba oredered at the Ford dealer and was trading my 1963 R code 427/425 Ford in but they never got one. Probally for the best I probally would have killed myself at 21. LOL

Can't wait to see this movie. But I am amazed they cast someone like Matt Damon to play Shelby, not even close to being alike in any way.

I get what you are saying. However in my opinion, he did a pretty darn good job of being Shelby.

Right. The cars and racing are great, but the acting makes the movie.
