Here's the last front engine Corvette

Built November 14, and auctioned last July for $2.7 million. Maybe we'll see it at an upcoming event.

It looks like the C8 starts production in February.

Bring on the Mid Engine. Motor Trend Car of the Year for 2020. Time marches on. Chevy needed to move to the Mid Engine platform to stay relevant.

True, it will be a winner, and meanwhile Ford makes this huge mistake to doom the Mustang as we used to know it.......https://performance.ford.com/enthusi...2zrLkYT1g59Vg8

Here is a cut-away of the C8 at Carlisle. Looked real easy to slide a big battery under everything.

If you're talking about the area that looks like a driveshaft tunnel, I say no. AWD coming?

Is it just me, or does the e-mustang look ugly? not like a mustang at all. I think they jumped the gun calling that thing a mustang.

I think the Mach-e is the best designed cross-over I've seen.

But it's a mistake to dilute and confuse Ford's most iconic brand by calling it a Mustang.

e-xplorer or e-scape would be better choices.

I wonder if moving to a mid-engine is enough for Corvette to stay relevant. Mid- engine was the vision a half century ago and won't help GM with any trickle down technologies for their other vehicles.

What would? Maybe an EV sports car with world beating performance and range. Now that would be a relevant vision for Corvette.

I'm afraid GM is stuck in its past.

I agree with part of that, GM is not interested in destroying their halo car with the niche EV, I appreciate that and would continue to buy GM cars. When they start offering more EVs, that is when I stop buying GM cars, as has happened with Ford. The facts show most all Americans agree with me about EVs......

                      KEY FACTS
EV market share grew to 1.8% in March 2019, up from 1.6% in March 2018.
EV marketshare is growing but still represents a tiny fraction of all cars in the U.S.
EV sales as a fraction of all new car sales were 1.5% in Q1 2019.

For those of you who have not seen it and care to know where Chevrolet may be going with a performance EV drivetrain, do a quick net-search for the Chevy E10. This 1962 C10 Resto-mod was featured in the Chevrolet booth at SEMA with the EV Connect & Cruise package (less batteries) on display alongside of it. It obviously be available at some point. Like the mid-engine Corvette who knows when besides Chevrolet and GM, but the change is coming soon because the demographics will and already are forcing it to happen.

And oh by the way, this was there too!

I think the end is in sight for ICE cars. Today one of every 50 new cars sold is electric even though they cost more and oil is below $60. What happens when EV becomes less expensive than ICE and the price of oil rebounds?

And when the day comes a $30k Kia EV blows by their ZR1, will enthusiasts change their buying habits?

Question #2, get back to me whan that happens too, but even if it did in my lifetime, this enthusiast will not.

Points taken. Shouldn't be too long though. Today, it takes a $70k Tesla to beat a C7...
