    70 SBC shielding question

Was there a particular date, VIN, or suffix cut / change off where the small block cars stopped receiving the ignition shielding on the 2 front cylinders? The particular car in question is an original 70 LT-1 and there is no evidence that there was any shielding brackets on the manifolds. I do recall an early car I used to own that had the front shields.

    Can anyone shed some light?

    Thanks,
    Tim

    Re: 70 SBC shielding question

I believe there was a transition in the mid to late production year and the front shielding was eliminated.

Yes--latest JG is very straight forward. Around VIN 14000. Change in top shield started about VIN 14100. Time to get the new JG!
