    Expansion Tank Date

I have an October 1971 built 1972 350 base 4-speed coupe. The majority of the car is original, to my knowledge including the aluminum radiator expansion tank. There is no sign whatsoever of replacement. However, the date code is E 70 (May 1970).
I kind of remember reading that these tanks were pulled from inventory, so an earlier date code is not uncommon.
Is there any reason to doubt the date code on my expansion tank?

    Re: Expansion Tank Date

I can't find the "acceptable" dates listed in my 6th edition TIMJG. I can tell you that only a couple dates are "acceptable" for 1962, which leads me to believe that they were manufactured in batches and therefore not going to always fit in the 6 month rule. Hopefully more experienced C3 judges will chime in and answer for you. Chip.
