    1967 Radio Speaker

I am attaching photos of two different speakers for a 67, both have mostly the same construction and both do have identical part numbers stamped. The main difference is the plastic speaker connector material, on one it is a clear plastic and the other it is an opaque white. I know that one needs to be re-coned.

    Questions
    1. Is one connector more correct than the other?
    2. Should there be a thin (very thin) black fabric covering the speaker and held in place with an adhesive to the cardboard ring around the speaker frame?

i like the tan plastic connector and yes, there should be a fabric over the speaker glued to cardboard. mike
