    Sale of Indianapolis Speedway

I just read that the Speedway, et al, has been sold to Roger Penske. I emailed Cathy Winters of Bloomington Gold to see if that will have an effect on the Bloomington Gold event. I will post her comments when I get them.

I would think that if Bloomington Gold had a contract it would still be honored.

I just got an email from Cathy Winters, She said that they have a contract for 2020. After that ? I suggested moving to the GM Tech Center in Detroit-LOL

I spoke with one of the Penske organizations pers. and he said the organization is looking for additional events at IMS and wants to maintain and increase the current ones.

I would prefer a place in Arizona or California, much closer to me so I might be able to attend.

PHEASENT RUN was one of the best. GREN GRASS show field, and the hate for cover when it rains, which it always does. Sorry Mike, It was always a Illinois event. Maybe there is a new hotel convention center in BLOOMINGTON - NORMAL back home where it all began.

The interesting question about this has nothing to do with Corvettes. That question is will one of the long-time Indycar teams now also be the organization responsible for coming up with the Indycar rules?

The last time someone tried a Bloomington-like event in California about 20 years ago (called California Gold in Palm Springs) it lasted one year and was a major flop.

Well, I guess the midwest version of a Corvette event is not easily transferred to other parts of the country. I have never been, as the format and concept sounds a bit different that what I am used to with NCRS events, but I would like to go once to see for myself.

Not much different from when CART was in charge or when Tony George ruled.

Thanks Mark, I will consider it, but someday I would like to actually enter a car, so a long tow would be necessary for that.
