    67 Roadster without soft top

Looking for some restoration advice. I purchased a 67 convertible from the son of the original owner. The car was ordered with optional hard top and soft top delete as confirmed by the son. There are no soft top holes in the deck lid and the top frame mounts have never had bolts in them. My question is, will installing a soft top and frame devalue the car or drive the corvette Gods insane?
    The protecto-plate is long gone
    thanks, Tom

Adding the convertible top should not have any affect on the value. If you do I suggest you purchase another convertible deck lid. The hardtop deck lids are very rare items. Save the original in a safe place.

I agree with Harry to a large extent. However, if you have paperwork stating hardtop only, I would leave it that way.

If I remember correctly, the ECL codes on the trim tag correspond to if the car has a hardtop or not (providing it is a St.Louis bodied car, and not an AOS). I think that if you have a hardtop (ECL code changes) and add a convertible top, no harm no foul. But if you have a convertible top only car and an original trim tag, and add a hardtop, the ECL code will only indicate a convertible top. I don't have the ECL list in front of me, but I'm sure others will chime in.

Did you check to see if the tank sticker is still on the tank?

                    Thanks Tom
455BF = White / Black vinyl. BF= C07 hardtop, and NO A31, A82 which is PW and Headrest seat.
Codes BA, BC, BE, and BG all exclude C07 Hardtop

As you can see from James ECL posting, your trim tag lines up with a hardtop. If you add the convertible top, the ECL codes on the trim tag line up, no harm, no foul.
But if you had a BA, BC, BE and BG code on the trim and had a convertible top, and tried to add a hard top (the opposite of what you are trying to do), it would not be correct.
Of course, if you have any paperwork for the car, it wouldn't match if you added the convertible.
