On the early '65's with Power Brakes it's my understanding that the rear brake line was 1/4" and fastened to the upper inside frame rail (not on top) so it could be installed with the body on. Is this correct? Anyone have a picture they could share? Thanks in advance.

Re: Early '65 PB rear line routing
Hi Kent,
My power brake 1965 built in late Nov 1964 has a 3/16" brake installed on the top of the frame. This line turns upward just past the firewall and connects to the power brake master cylinder which also has 3/16" threads. I also have a late July 1965 without power brakes and it also has only 3/16 brake lines also on top of the frame. I don't think any 1965's had 1/4" brake lines from GM.- Top

Re: Early '65 PB rear line routing
Kent,
I think the problem with trying to run the line down the side of the frame rail is that the hole in the cross member (on 65 frames) is too small to fit the line through. At least that's what I ran into on my 65. I believe the 66 and 67 frames have a larger opening in the cross member so the line can fit through as it runs down the side of the frame rail.- Top
