2006 Corvette Radio updates over the air?

I just had my 2006 Corvette LT3 update the radio software today.
Frankly I didn't know this was possible on the 2006.
The radio indicated the software update and had the progress bar displayed.
While it was updating the radio played but the volume control didn't work and none of the other functions operated.
My assumption is; this just a radio update. Anyone with experience with the updates?
Did anyone know this was possible in 2006?

Rick, One of my Corvettes is a 2006, 1LT, I've owned it since new, and I never heard of a radio update. Maybe there's something different with the 3LTs.

Not being able to set the time. Is that the issue you are referring to?
If so that is one of the issues I was having. I will have to see if anything has changed.
Even Google has little to say about the update on the Corvette.
I love the car but it does have its quirks.

Once you disconnect the battery apparently the clock disappears Lots of past threads on this issue
