1970 1/2 shaft bolts

I read in the 1970-1972 judging manual that the inner u joint cap bolts for the 1/2 shafts are supposed to be black in 1970 and early 1971.
All other years that used these bolts are silver.
I'm familiar with most if not all of the manufactures that made these bolts and I've only seen silver.

Can someone verify for me that in 1970 they are definitely supposed to be BLACK ?
Also, what head marking?

It has always been my experience that the bolts that attach the rear end yokes are grade 5 and were plated silver cadmium and the lock washers were black oxide. However, the bolts that attach the outer axle flange are grade 8 and were plated black oxide with black oxide lock washers. Hope this helps.

The bolts on the outer u-joint flange did not use lockwashers. French locks were used.

I figured you must have had a "senior lapse". It happens to me, too. In fact, it happened recently on a discussion about ZR-1 radiator hoses. I spec'd out hoses that I had previously determined would not work.
