'66 L79 Fuel Line (Pump to Carb)

Howdy Fellow NCRS Members. Would anyone have pictures of a '66 L79 (350 HP, pump tp carb) fuel line installed? Trying to figure out how it threads around the heater and lower radiator hoses. While I have you on the line, I've got a couple of questions.

When installing the fuel line (pump to carb) is it advisable to take off the water outlet on the intake to provide more room to seat the line and carb inlet? Seems pretty tight with it in place.

Last question (promise). Can anyone recommend a vendor who sells SS or steel (chrome) fuel lines with the correct fit, finish and appearance for a '66 L79 (pump to carb)? I've tried a chrome line from Corvette Central and SS lines from Zip and Paragon. All of them have been off in one way or the other.

    Thanks in advance,

    Doug

I am posting pictures of my L79 on a run stand with the fuel line run, and a stock photo from the internet with the same type engine installed. For fitment, a replica from the vendors like Paragon/Long Island Corvette will be bent exactly as original and will run from the fuel pump to carb without interference. it is just a close fit.
You do not have to take top or bottom hoses or the water outlet off to install the fuel line. For your last question, the chrome lines I have bought from Paragon and LI Corvette have been very good compared to original. The one shown in pictures is from Paragon. If you need more help pm me for a phone call Frank

As Frank says, the repros fit very well with minimal tweaking. This presumes your fuel pump and carburetor are both correct. When installing, connect at the fuel pump first, then the carb. It sometimes helps to loosen the 4 nuts holding down the carb to get the line started into the fuel filter fitting. If you have not replaced the fuel filter in the fitting now is a good time to do so.

Thanks Ed, great info. The carb is original, but not the fuel pump. Will definitely change the filter. Appreciate the response. Always amazed at how many great members the NCRS has! S/F, Doug
