    '65 Inner Heater Box Fasteners

I'm in the process of putting my '65s air selector distributor back together
(per AIM, UPC C60, page A2 & p/n 3864607). Unfortunately, when I got my fasteners back from plating, some were either lost or mixed up with others that I had plated at the same time. . . .
Looking for help in trying to identify the correct fasteners (sizes, quantities & finishes) that hold the two halves of a '65 inner air selector duct assembly together (per AIM, UPC C60, page A2 - - - p/n 3864607)? And, is there a reference document or website that would help me in re-assembling the entire air distributor?

Here's a few pictures of the two halves:

    Any/all help is greatly appreciated . . .

    Hi Ray,

I can definitely help you identify your fasteners. This is one area of my Nov/Dec '65 built 1966 convertible that was untouched when I bought the car in 1988. I'm away from the car on business now but will be home in 2 weeks. My distribution box, evaporator blower box and all ducting is removed from the car now. I've meticulously bagged/tagged all fasteners and would be happy to share photos with you.

I'm sending you a private message with my contact info. Mike

      Ray,

Here's a few photos of my recently restored '67 A/C & Heater Core box. Last winter I had to change the heater core. Hope this helps. There were several different size screws with different plating. Be careful re-installing the screws as the plastic/Fiber box threads strip easily.

      Regards, Rocco

          Hi Ray,

Here's a couple of file NCRS Discussion Board photos along with some of mine to help show the screws needed for the heater core inspection cover and the "pan" duct. They both attach to the interior AC distribution box using these type screws.

I'm sending 2 posts now. The first shows the ducts loose and installed along with good closeups of the tiny 1/4" inch screws that attach them to the box. Pretty sure the inspection cover uses 12 screws and the pan duct 6? Maybe 8? These "3 dot" head marks are what was on my December built '66. Seen them on '65's also.

Glad I had these photos on my computer so I could start sending you something while I'm away from home. Thanks to the folks that posted the pics I borrowed here. Sending this out now to help everyone who's in the process too. More when I get home. Mike

            OK Ray,

Here's some nice closeups of my original screws for the inspection cover and pan duct. These little guys are hard to find but they're out there. Here's the pics. Mike
