My original grilles appear the same as some Z28 wheels I matched to original.

Re: 1970 grill and chrome trim back ground paint color.
Ronald,
I am pretty sure the mopar gray for the front grill surround is a close match. The original paint has a fairly rough texture. I went to an old fashioned auto paint store that had the formula and they mixed up a pint. It was a little off after I sprayed and they were able to tint it to an almost perfect match. I brought the center grille and used the back side of the center grill to achieve the match. took about three times to get the tint just right. See if you can find a place that can still mix up some lacquer. The code is DDL 32939 Silver Gray and it is marked "agricultural". Acrylic Lacquer.
Kind Regards, Bill- Top
