    C2 Steel Wheel Identification

    Folks,

I have attached a few pictures of a rim I have and would like to know what it fits and what its worth. Also, I'm looking for two original steel wheels for my 63.

    Thoughts??

I think you have a 65 66 rim there. They now make a very nice reproduction rim for 63

        Bob,

Any recommendations? Corvette Specialties of Maryland is one I've heard of.

They are the ones although I think Joe Scafidi sells them locally

I run those 63 repros from Brian at Corvette Specialties he makes them for most (all?) the vendors; I got mine on some really good sale through Ecklers - the main difference is no "GM" text on the front spider which is covered by the hubcap anyway... Here are signs of an original 63 wheel:

But, unlike the repros, you are rolling the dice that you'll get a used wheel that runs true, is not out-of-balance badly or has some other issues. Nobody around me "trues" steel wheels. If you get a turd you pretty much wasted your money...

            Get the repros IMO.

the brian tillus 63-4 and the 65-6 wheels are available from brian at corvette specialties of Md(now located in so cal). i don't believe they can be differentiated from real mccoy's when hubcap in place. put one of your originals in the spare tire tub so the judges can see the GM stamping. if u aren't in a hurry, u can save shipping at a show brian attends. i got a set at carlisle a few years ago. mike
