    Question For Joe Lucia on GM Fastener (Screw)#3793788

    Need some help Joe> The above is taken from the 1966-AIM. The second to the last digit is somewhat "blurred"in the AIM;
    It could be a 6 or a 0; my guess it is a 8. At any rate it is the screw that holds the Direction Signal Switch Wire Harness
    clip to the steering column. (Standard Not N36). Can you tell me anything about this screw? eg: Type of head;threads/color?
    Can not find this fastener @ LIC or Paragon.FYI

    Thanks in Advance>Larry

    Hi Larry,
    The item is a fastener not a screw. The number is blurred in both the 1965 and 1966 AIM but I think it's 3793768. It's a small round clip that passes thru the plastic cover and snaps into the hole in the column. Will try and post a picture later today.

      I can't tell you too much about it but the part number is 3793788. It is described by GM as "Directional signal lamp control switch wiring cover FASTENER" applicable to 1964-66 Corvettes without telescopic steering column. It was discontinued without supercession in March, 1972.

        Update on the above>LIC shows this fastener in this picture. I have the top clip as shown on the harness; have not found
        the connecting clip on the column mast as shown yet. FYI>Larry

          If you can find an AIM from the 70's ...before the big box Vette parts stores xeroxed copies of copies too many times, its clear as mud, the part number that is.

          Another tip is that if its was a bolt or screw it would be called out as such, so now that its a clip of sorts, special fastener, what is the missing part?

          That looks to clip on the column and the wire to it.
