How can I protect the above markings which are the original ones , due to the 66 being the Barcelona show car? Bearing in mind the side pipes going back on. Also when I cleaned I exposed the shame markings. Thank you in advance.

1) If you are planning to strip/repaint the frame, then mask off those areas you want to preserve. I would NOT apply tape directly to the markings, but rather cover the areas with plastic and tape the edges. Obviously, you will wind up with an area different than freshly painted.
2) You could also photograph the areas and then restore the frame, after which you could recreate the markings using appropriate paint/chaulk.

Steve, Thank You.As the marks are original and lasted 50+ years care and not taking it out in the rain and salted roads may last another again ta! M
